The city Freiburg im Breisgau is located on the western edge of the Black Forest, making it the southernmost major city in Germany. You can reach the city in about 30 min by car or by train.

The Black Forest metropolis, founded in 1120, owes its very special charm to its historic old town with the "Bächle".  The old town with its many small alleys and streets is characterized by its lifestyle. Numerous street cafés invite you to linger and enjoy the atmosphere. The most famous sight, the Freiburg Cathedral, is not to be missed during your visit to Freiburg.

In addition, many half-timbered houses have been preserved to this day and make a stroll through the historic old town very worthwhile.
